Description

Ancient Greek architecture is traditionally divided among three main styles or orders: Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. Modern imitations of these Greek orders, in the so-called Classical Revival style, are found in public buildings, including The Toledo Museum of Art. Such an association of the Greek and Roman past with a modern building is meant to convey to a public space a sense of dignity and grandeur.
