About the Plane:

The P-51 Mustang quickly became a game-changer in the skies of Europe during WWII. With its long range, powerful engine, and sleek design, the Mustang could escort bombers deep into enemy territory while holding its own in dogfights. The “Sweet Arlene” in particular was flown by Capt. Charles “Chuck” Weaver of the 357th Fighter Group—its nose art and name paying homage to his wife, Arlene. These planes, and the brave pilots who flew them, played a vital role in securing Allied air superiority.
