“I Love You” Cartouche Pendant – Sterling

Description

This cartouche, read from top to bottom, spells “I love you” in hieroglyphic script, which can represent objects as well as letters or sounds. Upon finding the Rosetta Stone in 1799 in the Nile River delta and its subsequent deciphering by the French linguist, Jean Francois Champollion in 1822, the ancient Egyptian sacred writing could finally be understood.
