Description
This image of Hatshepsut is taken from the scene ‘Fishing and Fowling in the Marshes’ found in The Painted Tomb Chapel of Nebamun. She is crowned with lotus flowers and buds and a perfume cone. She holds a bouquet of lotus flowers in her right hand and wears a full-flowing garment like the women in the banquet scene; extensively pleated, it gradually shaded from yellow at her shoulders to translucent white as it falls, rippling, to her feet. A full wig, gold earrings and garlands add to the voluptuous presence of Hatshepsut’s figure.
